The procedure completed successfully and reported "OK".

Immediately afterwards, the parking brake behavior changed:

The electronic parking brake can still be applied normally using the center console switch.
The parking brake will NOT release using the center console switch.
The parking brake CAN be released through VDASH ("Release parking brake" function).
The vehicle drives normally once the brake is released through VDASH.
No brake warnings are displayed on the dashboard.
No ABS or BCM fault codes are present.

The only relevant fault code that appeared is:

VDDM-B111153
"Electric park brake enable. System Programming Failures. Deactivated."

Service mode was never activated. "Exit service mode" returns an error because service mode is not active. The issue started immediately after running the Initialization Check.

Has anyone encountered this before or knows how to restore normal parking brake release operation after a VDDM initialization check?
