I'm reaching out about a DPF issue on my Volvo V50 2.0D (2006, ~210,000 km).

Symptoms: significant power loss (feels like the 136hp is more like 60hp), occasional exhaust smell. Engine otherwise runs smoothly, no abnormal noises.

Fault codes (via VDASH):

ECM-242F + DPF pressure codes: ECM-2452 / 2453 / 2454 / 2456
ECM-0299 and ECM-2263 (turbo, likely underboost caused by DPF backpressure)

I'm considering a full DPF replacement, but there's a big price gap: garages are quoting around €1300 (part + labor), while I'm finding compatible DPFs online for €250-300.

I'm thinking about doing the replacement myself to save on labor costs.

My question: does VDASH allow resetting the sensors/adaptation values after a DPF replacement, or does that require VIDA/DICE specifically?

Thanks in advance for any input!

Do you think this is a reasonable first job for a total beginner, or is it trickier than it looks
