CCM replacement on Volvo S40
-
Hi!
My CCM module has started giving me trouble—specifically, the fan speed adjustment knob doesn't increase or decrease the speed when I turn it, though it does start working again intermittently. At one point, the module's LEDs stopped lighting up entirely (for instance, the A/C LED—which is orange when off and green when on—wasn't lighting up at all), yet the A/C itself still works: pressing the button turns it on, and pressing it again turns it off. Basically, that’s the issue. I’m thinking of replacing the CCM with a used unit. Is it possible to buy one from a salvage yard and swap it in? What else do I need to keep in mind here? The CCM supports ECC, so I plan to look for a replacement that has all the same buttons and is identical to mine.
Thanks! -
@sizan the donor CCM needs to have the same hardware number and buttons as your current CCM, and you need to clone the software from your old module to the donor part. Additonally you might need to run some diagnostic commands like LIN discovery or damper motor adjustment, if the swapped in part doesn't work as expected. This might require VIDA as Vdash still lacks certain diagnostic commands.
