C30 1,6 d START/STOP

I disabled the START/STOP function in the car settings, but it does not work as expected. It turns out that the button is disabled and does not respond, but the function itself continues to work, i.e. the car turns off the engine when stopped at traffic lights. Is this how this function is supposed to work? Or did I do something wrong?
