disabling EVAP purge/check US P2 cars.

Hello guys, I have a project which I would like to embark on, which involves deleting the purge/EVAP system on P2 cars. Both my cars, ('01 S80, '05 XC70) have recurring CELs and related DTCs for EVAP leaks or failed valves in the system. My understanding is that European cars do not have this system, or that there are regions where these cars did not have this system. Anyone have any experience with this?
