  • VCM no Ethernet signal

@T5-T6-Schnappi After looking around, I haven't been able to locate anyone in Portugal who can perform the cloning. In the meantime, I switched out the ECM for the original one, so I guess I'm going to buy a new VCM and program it with VIDA.
    Two last question:

    • By changing to the original ECM, do I still need to restore the software and by restoring the software you mean to perform a Factory Reset through the center touchscreen, right? By doing so will I lose any changes made in Vdash, like taking off the speed limiter?
    • Any independent dealer with a legit subscription to VIDA can do the job, or only official dealers?
Thanks for your time; you have been very helpful! 👍

@T5-T6-Schnappi I can confirm my car is Sensus. I need to double check the OBD pins port (thanks for the diagram).
At this point i know a used one, with the same part number and H/W number, will work however i don't want to loose some functionalities, like app connectivity.
Do you know if a new VCM module can be programmed to my car?

@T5-T6-Schnappi Not Rica, it was NRS TEchniek but i think the procedure it's exactly the same.
I don't have DoIP communication in Vdash and Orbit (It was only the 2 softwares i tried)

I've done some meetings with NRS and Orbit support. During this meetings they've tried to connect the car to the software (Orbit) with no succcess because there's no ethernet signal/connection from OBD port. Mostly, their work was done around the windows firewall and windows Ethernet/port configurations. Basically, in the end this was their answer:

    • " Although not see a 2022 VCM fail, this is what we see on early VCMs that have failed, at least for our purposes. The Ethernet chip fails, wich kills the VOE connection."

Just to let you know, during this time i've checked the OBD Port pins, the fuse for OBD diagnostics, also perform a de-power for reset the VCM module (Disconnected the VCM module and VOC battery backup). Thanks

Just to add some info it might be relevant. To install the tune i replaced the original ECM for a new one that it's send by the tuner, it's not really a new one since the ECM came with signs of second-hand (scratches and stickers peeling). First they retrieved the data from the original ECM, then i change it for the "new" one for data transfering. Thanks

@T5-T6-Schnappi The tune was installed remotely, tuner connected to laptop via ultraviewer and used Orbit for the flash. The tune was completely installed, the car is working fine and all the VCM function are working fine but now i dont have Ethernet signal. Everything was working fine before the installation, i could connect to car with VOE cable for diagnostics with no problem at all but now i don't have ethernet signal, however i have communication if using the J2534 Mongoose cable to connect to Vdash.

    Hello,
I'm experiencing a problem with my VCM module, after install a ECM tune,i connected the VOE cable for some data logging and the Ethernet communication was lost . The tune was installed and the car is working fine but the Ethernet signal with VOE cable don't work, however i have connection with J2534 cable to Vdash. All the function of the VCM seems to be working fine (no problems with Gps location, wifi signal, VOC or volvo app).
I've tested with 2 different VOE cable, 2 USB adapters and 2 laptops, also checked the fuse. Can anyone perhaps knows what's causing the problem and if there's any solution? Do i need to buy another VCM module?
    Thanks!
