This car had "Power steering failure" message on the dash and steering being super heavy.
I measured the support battery to be 0v and replaced it with this one: https://www.exidegroup.com/eu/en/battery/EK111 which doesn't seem to be the exact spec but close enough, not sure if it will be related to the error I get.
And next I measured both batteries to be 12.2v with engine off and 13.9v with engine on.
Used a Launch tablet to read the error code and it has this "U300049" error on the PSCM module. It clears but returns after engine stop and start. That error message seems to be related to the internals of the module but I am not sure how the module got demaged?
Is there a way to reprogram the module or anything I can try before replacing the full steering rack? How you would aproach this issue?
