    hello,
I have a friend who bought a volvo v50 (100kw engine) which has DPF off (and probably EGR OFF), so there were changes made to the software.
But he has a problem, when the car is running at a constant speed, it seems to shake, if he presses the accelerator a little, the car runs smoothly, without problems. On the mechanical side, everything has been changed, but the problem persists. He suspects that the problem is in the software, but he doesn't know where these software modification operations were done before, to look there. He saw when I did the diagnostics via VDASH, that he can do an optimization, (and it appears in green, if I remember correctly) to the version: ORI + EGR+DPF OFF (100 kW Power, 340 Nm Torque). By the way, does ORI come from the original software?

because I'm new here, how is it possible to help him install this software? What do I need?

Some advice would be very helpful!

    Thank you for the answers!
    VIN is: YV1MW755172319311

@sizan Ori means just EGR and DPF removed from the software, but no tuning. If you flash this software, you will need to install a blanking plate on the EGR https://d5t5.com/eshop/detail/41/egr-zaslepka-2-0d
In the optimization menu should also be an option to check if the car is running with original or tampered software.
The shaking you describe can also be a sign of a worn suspension, imbalanced/worn out drive shafts, worn engine mounts, worn transmission mounts, worn subframe bushings and so on...
What parts have been replaced, and what quality was used? Aftermarket /original? When was the shaking first recognized, or did it appear after something was done on the car?

@T5-T6-Schnappi how do the tires look? Are they really round, or are there sign of sawtoothes or nonsymetric wear? When was the last allignment done on both axles?

mechanically and technically, the car is impeccable, and he had everything replaced and checked. (as an idea, even the accelerator pedal was replaced). The car runs flawlessly, except for that vibration or shaking (I hope I'm expressing myself correctly) but only when the car is running at a constant speed. (let's say I set the cruise control to a speed of X km/h and I'm constantly driving on the highway, then it feels like it). So he suspects that only the software part could be the problem. Is it still necessary to decode the PIN before loading the software? In short, he is afraid that the computer will break when loading the software and he will be left without a car....so he asked me to ask here. thank you very much!

@T5-T6-Schnappi to be even more explicit, if at the moment when the car is constantly running and shaking, if you just press the accelerator pedal a little, and hold it down, any shaking disappears. I don't know how else to explain it better..

I had exactly the same problem - Rica chiptuning helped me!

@sizan I understand what you mean. Uneven combustion under constant or no load. This is usually caused by low fuel pressure, worn injectors, leaks or massive carbon build up in the intake . Did you already do basic things like clean the MAF and MAP sensors? Replacing the fuel filter? Use something like this 118537.jpg to check the injectors?
Bad software could also be a problem, but the last thing I would suspect. Tuned/modified software should also trigger a DTC for a checksum error in the ECM.
If you want to flash other software anyway, you will need a good charger, a good adapter like the Super J2534 and maybe the ECM pin, if this engine already has that. The CEM pin is not needed for flashing the ECM.

Don't touch the injectors - it's just the ECM software's fault!

@Arnis2002 With checking injectors I mean performing an injector fuel return test, which can also be seen in the picture I posted. This simple test consist of unplugging the small fuel return hoses from the injectors, and watching and comparing the amount of leaking fuel of all 4 injectors while the engine is running. This simple test is an indicator to diagnose worn injectors, and can be easily done without removing them from the engine. Every professional mechanic I know, would do exactly this test together with a smoke test of the whole inlet, based on the symptoms reported.

Installing tuning software without doing a proper diagnose to fix potential engine problems is a somewhat special suggestion.

Injectors, among all, have been checked and they are ok..

@sizan could you make a list what has already been done/checked?

these are the consequences of improper DPF and EGR shutdown!
