VIDA 2014D/2015A Windows 11
-
I performed a complete uninstallation of the VIDA from a Windows 10 laptop. This installation was really easy compared to the previous original VIDA 2014d version installation and the very multi-step SQL Server upgrade to version 2019. Huge thanks to the creator.

@ZaanTerror Very, very thank you! After buying a good cable (Mongoose JLR clone) it is working perfectly! Data reading is superfast, live data, etc. Perfect.

Hi all,
I’m running VIDA on Windows 11 in a VM and it fails to start with a database error.
Log:
The header for file 'C:\VIDA\db\imagerepository_data.mdf' is not a valid database file header. The FILE SIZE property is incorrect.
CREATE DATABASE failed. Some file names listed could not be created. Check related errors.
ImageRepository attached.Any idea?
-
@klagowski something went wrong during attachment of databases. Or ImageRepository.mdf became corrupted during download/unpack.
Please try uninstall - reboot - install.

@ZaanTerror Can you send me the link to rogephon@gmail.com?

REVIEW: WOW!!!! So easy!
Guys, I have been trying the different version of VIDA of the past years, mostly running on Virtual Machines, which sometimes did run fine, but also encountered problems and took a lot of time and reading and effort to get it working.
This makes getting VIDA a dream... it just worked straight out the zip file (I did have 3.5 Network installed already, not the one supplied with the ZIP). I also had my own drivers for the Mongoose interface installed. Running it on a Panasonic toughbook, i5, 16gb of ram.
I've also encountered many people selling their own easy install versions, and for quite a price too. Volvodiag offers a 5 dollar VM option, but again it's so much hassle.
Props to Zaan, this is what a good software tech can do, and in turn makes my life much easier. I don't want to spend hours figuring out if I have the right spec, right software, right verison etc. I just need the software so I can work on my car and get on with my life. This allows you to do that.

Worked like a charm on my newly installed win 11 laptop, Dell latitude 7280, i7, 16gb ram.
Been using VIDA in a vm on Ubuntu with virtual box and it never really worked out very well. Especially with the J2534 which would make the vm crash almost every time.
This worked so much better and was breeze to install.
Lots of kudos to ZaanTerror for making it so easy saving me a lot of time and frustration.
