OBDLink EX Compatibility

I had read online that I could use the OBDLink EX to connect to VDASH. It's readily available here in Canada via Amazon so I bought one. However, I can't make it connect correctly. When I use the native drivers, VDASH says the drivers are outdated or forbidden. When I use the "Super J2534 / Mongoose JLR" driver, the computer will not connect to the car. Has anyone made the OBDLink EX work?
