    Hello guys,
2008 Volvo S40 with ford's 1.8 petrol isnt quick car, nor comfortable to drive at highway speed. Do you happen to know not to expensive way to improve satisfaction with drive (apart from changing car)?
Now I am considering replacing throttle body to bigger one. Has anyone tried that?

The tuning potential of this engine is basically zero. At least if you aren't willing to invest insane amounts of time and money. Changing just the throttle body won't have any noticeable positive effect. As your engine is naturally aspirated, you would need to invest in machining your cylinder head, different cams, custom build exhaust setup with lower back pressure/better flow, custom intake setup, custom mapping, forged pistons and so on. Additionally you would need to get rid of serious amounts of weight. Buying a car with bigger displacement and a turbo charger is most probably the much cheaper option, and would give you way better performance.
