V40 2018 Weird LED headlight DTC , no info online
-
Hello forum ,
I have done my online search all internet and all forums about this fault , this error started suddenly.
At first I suspected the ride height sensors that one of them is faulty, as this was the most common problem but i checked them and on live data they both worked fine front and rear.
I didn’t do any work to the car prior to this error.
On the dash it says “Headlight system malfunction Service required” and it doesn’t go away ,
The DTC is
CEM-B11884B
CEM-B118887
on VDASH it doesn’t show a description for the DTC.
And when scanning with another scan tool it gives me- CEM-B11884B FR full set LED module. System internal fault. Overtemperature.
so I understand that fault is on right headlight ( I have 2018 v40 with Full LED headlights)
when switching headlights from right to left side ( I connected right headlight to left side and left headlight to right side ) the DTC changes to left side , so I narrowed down the fault to the right headlight , right now the headlight works perfectly fine. Low beam and high beam , adjusts up and down on car start and turns left and right when driving , but the odd thing I noticed was when I turn off car after a drive or even after few seconds of it being turned on there is a noise coming from right headlight like a fan , the noise comes from only right headlight, anyone has came across this problem? Any info would be appreciated I have searched all over about this and in many languages and nothing came up online.
Do i need a new/replacement HCUM and then code it? Or entire headlight unit?
