    Hello to whoever reads this,
I recently purchased a mongoose cable and installed VDASH to enable remote start on my 2012 S60 (b6304t4). I cracked the CEM pin (40 minutes), paid for remote preconditioning and enable remote start ($170 USD), and followed all of the steps. I have had no luck getting it to work. I've driven it around after enabling it, tried enabling one configuration at a time, tried clearing stored codes, nothing. Doesn't work. I know for a fact I'm doing everything properly as I've tried disabling and enabling it 5 times now. Feel like I'm shit out of luck and don't know what to do. At this point I feel like I wasted almost $200 and know I can't get a refund. Can't get ahold of D5T5 either.

Did you change both options mentioned in this article https://d5t5.com/article/remote-engine-start-from-car-key-ers
And did you wait long enough (15-20 minutes) after the car was locked, before you tried ERS?

Do you have error messages in the DIM after trying ERS?

@T5-T6-Schnappi Yes I configured both the 'remote preconditioning' and 'remote start car key' multiple attempts. Last night I attempted it again after reconfiguring to factory settings and configured one at a time to see if that made a difference, which it did not. No error messages or any messages whatsoever on the DIM, and approach lights come on when I do the lock -> hold sequence. Its like the configuration isn't even uploading to my car, but when I go back into VDASH it shows that both are enabled. I can reset to factory and try again, waiting longer this time, however I think that somewhere along the way the configurations aren't properly uploading. I did a DIM needle test to verify the software and mongoose I'm using are actually working, and the DIM test went fine. I'm stumped

If you check out my configuration log ^ it says that remote start is still disabled?? That doesn't make any sense.

Stupid question. Did you try a fresh set of batteries in the fob. And are you patient enough? After pressing the lock button, you must be really quick to switch to the light button and hold that until the hazard lights are flashing

@T5-T6-Schnappi No such thing as a stupid question when I feel shit out of luck...Thats something I've been thinking of trying. Battery tested at 2.95 which isn't bad, but could be throwing off the process? I'll give it a shot. As far as patience goes, I waited a whole night after activating it and driving it home from work with no luck in the morning. I'll try to find a weekend day to disable and reconfigure the settings and let it sit locked after the lock>start>lock sequence for a few hours. I've tried every possible combination of timing as far as button presses goes. I'v done quick switches, longer pauses, holding both at the same time, double clicking and holding light button, etc. I'll start with key fob battery and maybe I'm not being patient enough, but it feels like I've tried it all. I'm thinking of trying another USB port on my laptop, and using a friends if that doesn't work.

@volveeta the correct press sequence is short press on the lock button, looong press on the light button.
After enabling ERS by setting the 2 parameters, you have to leave the car locked for 15-20 minutes and than drive around for a while, maybe 10-15 minutes. Than lock the car again with parking brake applied and wait for maybe 15 minutes before you try it.

@T5-T6-Schnappi Right, after no luck with the "proper" sequence I messed around with timing and whatnot. I'll change my fob battery and reset to factory when I get a chance and leave it at that for a day or two before reconfiguring again. I'll let it sit a bit longer this time and go for a drive. Will let you know in a week or so if it was a success.

@T5-T6-Schnappi You'd think even if you didn't let the car sit long enough, it would eventually configure over time. The directions say to lock it for 5min, run it for 10s, lock it for another 5min, and then it should be configured. Are you saying to skip the running step and leave it locked for 20min right after configuration? Or are you saying to lock it for 20min after the intial 5min lock and 10sec start?
