DPF regeneration with EGR off tune + EGR fault codes
-
V70II with D5244T5 engine.
The car has a broken EGR valve. I cleaned the whole intake and added a blocking plate to the EGR valve. After that I loaded the car with Stage1 + EGR off tune. After all that the car is running fine but the ECM is throwing ECM-44A0(EGR position sensor. Signal too low.) code for the EGR valve. There is motor system needs service notification on the dash but the car does not go to limb mode. Should the DPF regeneration work normally in this condition?

Try unplug egr connector, and delete codes...

But sounds weird, if tuned egr-off, why there is egr codes.... Bad tuning file?

Okay. I tried all the tune options with egr off apart from stage 2. The ECM-44A0 comes back with them all as soon as the car is started.
Also there is now a code ECM-2BAA (Particulate trap. Value) and a particulate trap full message on the dash. Taking a long drive ~1h @ 80kmh did not make it go away so im assuming the regeneration does not work.
I also briefly tried EGR + DPF off tune which got rid of the DPF code but the EGR code was still present.

Egr off on this euro4 engine is that the working egr valve is programmed to stay in closed position.
When the egr valve is broken, then off course egr programmed to stay in closed position does not work.
You have as far as i can see a broken egr position sensor, this means the ecm does not know what position the valve has.
Mount a scrapyard egr valve (with working egr position sensor) and egr wil stay in closed position and no more soot will enter the engine. With the soft egr off (egr is programmed to stay closed) dpf and regeneration will work as normal.

If d5t5.com egr off not solve this, you can find real tuning service, who can make real egr-off file. No error codes, no limp mode, and dpf regen fine....
