    Hi all,

After installing the FSM and FLR on my V40, driving for a while to make sure everything is working as it should, I'm now starting to go further with the ACC retrofit.

New brakebooster and BCM are already in my posession, yet still have to start mounting them. I'm aware that on the V40 this project isn't as straight forward as it is on other P3 models, because of the BCM and data on the EEPROM that needs to be transferred.

Do I really need to swap the EEPROM from my current one to the donor BCM, or read and write the data over between the 2 units, or will the BCM clone function inside VDASH do the same without needing to opening up the BCM?

@yellowcake Why do you want to replace the BCM? If you take a look here you will see that there are 2 different BCMs for different chassis numbers. ACC or not doesn't matter. You just need a brake booster with part number 31381633.
Vdash should be able to clone the BCM of you want to replace it anyway.

Every article I've read about retrofitting adaptive cruise to the V40 stated that there is a difference in the BCM between the models, so changing over the EEPROM for the vehicles data, or reading the original one and writing the data to the new one is needed.

In my case the car is fitted with partnumber 31423315. BCM 31423316 is fysically different from the first one mentioned as can be seen here https://www.drive2.ru/l/700921346472808546/

This other article also states the difference in BCM for adaptive cruise on the V40 https://www.drive2.ru/l/696000482182706910/

@yellowcake part number 31423315 and 31433516 seem both to have been replaced by 31433517. Also both of these guides don't mention the modelyear and engine code. I would suspect MY -14 or earlier.
You might want to find someone with access to an official VIDA subscription to look up the correct part numbers and also the wiring diagrams. VIDA2014D and EWD2014D are both useless for your car in these terms.

31423316 has been confirmed by a befriended volvo mechanic. So that should be correct. Browsing used parts the one that ends on 15 are found on vehicles without, and the one ending on 16 on with acc
