Hi everyone, I was wondering if the following are the correct steps to use "Configure SRS" to code a new/used module (part no. 31264861 or 31288291) to work with my 2009 S80 T6?

      1. Install the new/used module,
      2. In VDASH, click on the SRS module to bring up the "Supplementary Restraint System" dialog, click "Configure SRS".

      Thanks.

          Hi @D5T5-David,

I was reading the "Preconfiguration" section of the SRS configuration page (https://d5t5.com/article/srs-config) and wonder what is involved in "cloning firmware".

The micro-controller inside my SRS module has a 4KB EEPROM and 256KB flash. I learned when the 256KB flash of the donor unit has been overwritten (with the content from another unit,) the module loses communication (module not found in VDASH.)

In my case, both the EEPROM and flash of the donor unit were overwritten with the content of my original unit and the donor unit lost communication afterwards.

Your kind help will be much appreciated!

          Albert

solved my problem, after i repaired all deployed airbags i did crash reset by CG100X and i get crash date and ABS fault so i make worst, didn't notice that i messed up with ABS as well i thought ABS was replaced without coding before i bought this vehicle from the auction.
so, after many days of fighting with this vehicle i removed SRS module and restore eeprom to previous settings with crash date and then run crash date with vdash again and then bang all sorted all faults gone ABS and SRS back to normal.

all so its highly recommend using same module as original one same part number or it want work you are cloning only to the same part number unit.

Thanks @radoslaw317 for your reply and congratulations on resolving your Volvo electronic issues!

Per your recommendation, I will get a used module with the same Volvo part number as my original SRS module for replacement.

I was carefully reading your detailed post (from 17 hours ago.) Am I right in understanding below was what you did to fix the SRS issue:

                  1. Removed the donor SRS module from the car and restored the EEPROM content to its original state (which includes the previous crash date).

                  2. Use VDASH to configure the donor SRS module to work with your car.

                  Many thanks!

If you have original srs unit with crash date leve in the car plug in obd scanner and go to BCM and restore crash date than connect Vdash and go to srs module and choose crash date reset then run the process and it should work

                      Thanks @radoslaw317.

My original SRS module is showing the SRS-U300000 (internal communications error) which indicates a hardware problem although my car was never involved in any accident. That's why I inquired about how to make a donor module work with my car using VDASH.

                      Thanks again.

ok so that's change everything. with U300000 you want to be able to clone your original SRS it must be done on the bench. what is your original part number

Below are the details for my original SRS module-

                          Part number: 31264861
                          Serial number: 008101000245
                          TEMIC barcode: FBV8K10A7L

                          Donor module details-

                          Part number: 31264861
                          Serial number: 007112500211
                          TEMIC barcode: FBV7L25A6J

Both the serial number and the TEMIC barcode are in the EEPROM.

I have a programmer that can read the 4KB EEPROM of the MC9S12XDT256VAL micro-controller inside.

Advice welcomed (i.e. which part of the original module EEPROM content should be cloned into the donor module EEPROM...etc.)

                          Thanks!

you need to clone whole of the data from original unit ( MC9S12XDT256VAL ) to the donor,
make sure you erase donor 16 Bit Microcontroller ( MC9S12XDT256VAL ) before writing original data

                              Thanks @radoslaw317.

                              1. Erase donor module EEPROM
                              2. Write the EEPROM content of the original module to the donor module EEPROM

Let me give that a try. Thanks muchly!

I have CG100X but it won't work with Volvo 100% crash date I clear in Volvo cars make wors then was I have one Volvo xc60 to clone srs but i can't find any good programmer
can you check if UPA can clone

@radoslaw317, the UPA-USB programmer goes by microcontroller models (i.e. MC9S12XDT384.) Instead of the SRS module part number, can you provide the microcontroller model inside the module for me to look up?

                                      Thanks.
