@Mslacool VIDA is much more unintuitive and user unfriendly than Vdash. If you want an easy to use tool, you will need a Bluetooth OBD-adapter like a vLinker MC+ and mobile phone apps like "V-Tool" for modelyear 2005 and newer or "Car Scanner ELM OBD2" for 2004 and older. V-Tool allows you to read codes and access lots of service functions. Car Scanner reads codes and allows to reset the service reminder.

Works perfectly so far with my 2008 Volvo C70!

        Use case:
I was able to clear my "Urgent SRS Airbag" Warning I got from taking out the Seats which do have airbags in them, and then turning the ignition ON, the computer was not happy.

        Computer Setup:
I installed Windows 11 X lite 23H2 on my Dell Latitude E6500 powered by a core 2 duo P9700, 8gb ddr2 800mhz, and a sata SSD. The laptop is speedy enough with this setup and the minimalist windows install and VIDA has no trouble running here hardware or software wise.

        The OBD Cable:
Using a $40 USB to OBD II I got on amazon I have full access to the car with Vida! Here is the link to the cable I purchased. https://a.co/d/0d95zNGW at the time of writing it is produced by the brand "lydesor" on amazon. Although I believe any USB to OBD II J2534 cable will do the job, just make sure to pick up a USB version and NOT the ethernet version, that is for newer cars!

Thank you Zaan for the quick replies and hooking me up with the installer same day!

@ButterMackrel basically any J2534 compliant adapter will work. The problem with cheap ones like the one you advertised is that they might not work at all, can even damage your CEM the first time you plug them in, or will fail after some time as they don't have the correct internals/are build with low quality parts. The original Atmel chipset which can be found in the Super J2534/Mongoose Pro sold by D5T5 and it's partners costs much more than 40 Dollars. If an Mongoose adapter costs less than that it's 100% low quality. Most of those low price adapters are not even Mongoose clones. Instead they are crap like Vxdiag/Vxnano or Scanmatic SMII inside a mongoose shell.

Thanks for the software. If you're using a newer version of windows 11 you may have to manually download the .net framework from here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/framework/install/dotnet-35-windows-11
